CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGN - SITE ENGINEERING
Services available consists of capacity studies; defining mitigation measures; planning and design of facilities such as roads, parking areas, open spaces, water front, walkways, landscaped areas, above ground water collection and subsurface drainage structures, specifically on-site stormwater retention / detention facilities, and obtaining of various agency approval as necessary for the building program requirements. This work includes university facilities public parks, pedestrian malls, industrial sites, shopping centers, hospital facilities, residential developments and water front developments. Leonard J. Strandberg and Associates, Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors, P.C. prides itself on providing innovative solutions to difficult design problems. As part of LJS design services, our in-house personnel are responsible for overseeing the approval / expediting process of all in-house NYCDEP / NYCDOT design projects.
LEEDS CERTIFICATIONS LJS has recently completed Projects for both Lehman College and Fordham University, thereby utilizing LEED Stormwater reuse facilities, including Subsurface Wetland Design. Our designs are critically balanced between the Regulations of the NYCDEP for Stormwater Detention and LEED Certification Credit 6.1 and 6.2 for Stormwater Management – Quantity and Quality Control. Our Innovative Design Solutions have allowed us to become a leader in the Civil Engineering Design Aspects for Sustainable Site Development.
SURVEYING / MAPPING
LJS provides a full range of Boundary, Topographical, Utility, Architectural Surveys and Digital Photogrammetrical Mapping.
Our field crews are equipped with state of the art surveying and electronic data collection equipment. Field collected data is electronically computed in personal computers using the latest surveying software. Final surveys are prepared with AutoCAD Release 2006 for CAD drawings in 2000+ Format.
We use methods of Aerial Mapping when large tracts of land are involved. Map compilation manuscripts prepared on high precision stereo plotting instruments interfaced to digital mapping systems. The output product is AutoCAD or INTEGRAPH files.
